Some farmers might want them (some farmers lose their animals to predators and need more). Some people keep them as pets where permitted (Our neighbors had one. Noisy and big, but cute). Even poor families or under privileged countries would eat them. Food kitchens for the homeless would probably take them off of their hands. There's probably another way to get rid of the chickens, but they just don't want to spend their time, energy, and money on the problem. Forget all ethical or jurisdictional premisses, if it is a male, just dispose of him, if he can't deliver anylonger. You may laugh at this, but it forms a notion that enhances the notion of us males as being disposable. Jim, I take male disposability very seriously. It does have an evolutionary root though, as I see it, as do most (all?) things related to sex.
