More progress

February 17th, 2011 by Pelle Billing

Just a quick note to say that I’ve been on national television again. Twice.

Last week I was on the same show as in December, and yesterday I was on a different network for the first time (links are here and here, but I cannot guarantee that they work around the world).

All appearances have given me significant airtime to speak about important men’s issues (well, I’ve claimed the airtime), so I’m very happy with these opportunities.

Today I also had an article published in Sweden’s largest newspaper.

As you all know I don’t update this blog nearly as much as I’d like to, but you can take some comfort in the fact that my focus on writing in Swedish is starting to pay off.

My goal is to have Sweden be the first country to reach a new paradigm on gender issues; one that includes men’s issues. That would be fitting, since no country (with the possible exception of Norway) has been as deep in the misandric gender mud as we have.

Well done, Pelle. More power to your many ways of voicing the truth.

“Men Kanye Wests video innehåller inte bara kvinnor som mördats, utan den innehåller specifikt vita kvinnor som mördats. När sången sedan heter ”Monster” och rapparen är svart, bör man nog inkludera även hudfärg i sin analys. ”

Ya think? Remember how one aspect of privilege is to assume that you are the norm? Eva-Britt is showing her tail on this one.

This image can in fact be considered pro-woman – if you’re black woman, that is. Another aspect of the racial dynamic, that you don’t touch on, is the frustrating stereotype of black men preferring white women to black. To American eyes that is at least as active in this image.

“Både nationella studier från norska och brittiska staten, samt stora meta-analyser från USA ger oss dessa siffror. Kvinnor blir förvisso skadade 2–3 gånger så ofta, men det beror på mäns fysiska styrka, inte på hur ofta man slår.”

That or perhaps more likely, when women do inflict the same degree of injury, the female perpetrators are not held to account because they accomplish the violence through proxies and thus evade responsibility – murder for hire – or else the violence simply is not recorded as a form of relationship violence – the Mary Winkler case where even though she shot her husband in the back while he was sleeping, she not only was acquitted, but the killing was not recorded as DV.

Interesting comments. Lots of appeals to chivalry, lots of pushback.

    Jim,

Yes, the comments are interesting. People resist men’s issues at a gut level, men as well as women.

Your comments make sense. It’s just that in an article that you want published, brevity is a virtue, so you cannot explore all the details.

    Amfortas,

    Thank you :)

    As are we!!!

If there was time it would be great to have English subtitles in the videos.

Interesting prospect and best of luck.

Exploring all the details in one article would be sure to scare readers away. No one can settle everything in one article.

    always have, pelle

it’s animal/limbic . . . add mass propaganda and profit on top and voila

womens’ lib was neither original nor revolutionary — it was a rebellion against righteousness, equity, and order, and ended up lowering women

but what’s happening with the world’s men IS a real revolution, a leap in spirit and consciousness, unprecedented in the species

wanna write your name in forever? this is the place to be

    congrats on the newspaper piece

    Thanks Ray and fondueguy.

I guess it makes sense – the farther along a country is in feminism and misandry, the closer the people of that country get to putting an end to it. Perhaps Sweden could be the first to fall in the gender war.

    Jay,

I think your analysis is spot on.

This week there’s a TV Show that’s discussing men the whole week. Something is happening for sure.
