Sluts, Studs and Losers

Wednesday, November 9th, 2011

I just saw the following tweet:

I don’t think it’s fair that when women have sex with lots of men they’re “sluts,” but when I have sex with lots of women I’m “dreaming.”

It’s obviously funny. That’s what I thought at first.

But there’s also a deeper meaning. Modern societies care greatly about women being called “sluts”, while men have the luxury to be referred to as “studs”. It’s not fair, according to feminists and just about everyone else.

But who gives a fuck about men who cannot laid at all, even if their life depended on it?

Women may have to worry about being called sluts, but there are far more men than women who are not even part of the sexual marketplace.

This discrepancy in sexual value is due to women being the sellers and men the buyers, and the sellers determine the price and if there will be a transaction at all.

Why are women the sellers? Well, to be crude, they have a uterus – and men don’t. This means that women have always owned something precious, something which is absolutely crucial for humanity to survive.

Sperm, however, are cheap. Millions are produced every hour in a fertile man, and they are readily replaced after each ejaculation.

At the end of the day, women simply bring something more important to the sexual transaction, at least evolutionary speaking. Today we may have contraceptives, and not care about the reproductive part of sex. But we are still deeply affected by the evolutionary programs that are part of our brain and our consciousness.

Translated into sexual economics, this means that the average women finds it fairly easy to get laid, whereas the average man finds it fairly difficult. Long term relationships are another story – we’re talking about plain old sex here.

Rereading the tweet above, it’s evident that it’s both funny and (for many men) deeply realistic at the same time:

I don’t think it’s fair that when women have sex with lots of men they’re “sluts,” but when I have sex with lots of women I’m “dreaming.”

Next time someone tells you that the slut label is unfair, please let that person know that there are worse things than being called a slut.

Swedish Mother Tells a Frightening Tale

Tuesday, October 4th, 2011

Over at my Swedish blog, one of my blog readers retold some pretty disturbing experiences she’s had as the mother of two. I decided to summarize her story for my English speaking readers (after blog reader Jim came all the way to my Swedish blog and asked for a translation!):

A blog reader (Ella) is the mother of a son and a daughter. The children are roughly in junior high/high school.

Sometimes the children have a special day in school to learn about gender equality. During those days the girls learn self-defense, and the boys have to attend groups where they “identify problems with the male gender role”.

When Ella’s son comes home after a day of gender equality, he and his friends look and feel pretty defeated. They’ve had to learn about the bad things men do to women, and what men did to women in the past.

Sometimes gender equality is the topic of regular classes too. In one such class they discussed prostitution, and Ella’s son came home and said that it’s really quite terrible that all these women are forced to Sweden to become prostitutes.

Ella replied that yes, human trafficking is indeed horrible. But far from all prostitutes have been trafficked. Initially her son didn’t believe her and thought she was misinformed.

In a class discussion on rape, Ella’s daughter made the mistake of saying that it is a shame that false accusations exist, since they detract attention from the actual rapes that happen. After class her male teacher pulled her aside and asked where she had gotten those fantasies from.

This is what happens when feminism takes over a whole country.

Video on Abused Men

Sunday, October 2nd, 2011

From WTTG Fox television news in Washington DC, April 2nd 1999:

They talk about:

  • The correct statistics of domestic violence.
  • How men cannot get help.
  • How men’s stories are not believed.
  • The problem with VAWA’s focus on women.
  • How children are affected by intimate partner violence.
  • Negative stereotypes of men.

The latter point is expressed with appropriate sarcasm:

They stay after work, they have sex with their secretaries, they go to the bar with their buddies, they get drunk, they go out and have sex with the waitress, then they come home, beat the wives and have sex with the children.

If this report could be done back in 1999, then it’s high time that modern societies actually start listening to abused men.

Myths About Circumcision

One of the readers of my Swedish blog sent me this link on myths about circumcision. It looks fairly well researched, so I thought I’d link to it as a resource.

Male vs female ways of grieving

Friday, September 2nd, 2011

Blog reader Allan recommended this video to me, and since I found it valuable I’m recommending it too.

The video quality is not great but the sound is quite clear. The speaker is Tom Golden, an expert on male grief and gender differences.

Some of the topics are:

  • How men usually grieve through activity and not through talking or crying.
  • How traditional psychotherapy is modeled on women.
  • Fight or flight vs tend and befriend.
  • How sex hormones testosterone and estrogen regulate the effects of oxytocin and prolactin.
  • How school is not adapted to boys.

If you’re interested in more of the teachings of Tom Golden he’s written a book called Swallowed by a Snake: The Gift of the Masculine Side of Healing.
